Known to all his fans as Boozie, Marshall C. Booze Jr. was born in Baltimore and began playing professionally in his early teens. By the time he was in high school (Frederick Douglass Senior High School), he was playing with a well-known local recording star, Jimmy Dotson and his group, the Wild Ones. In addition, he helped to organize a group called the Soul Serenaders for which he played guitar; the late Benny Johnson was the lead singer. The group released two songs in 1966 titled 'Fresh Out Of Teardrops' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmpbF1Fd-Bc) and 'What Would You Do' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZS3_yM27XRU) at
Tarx1010 Studio in New York City.

During the ensuing years, he had the privilege of performing with the likes of Sonny Stitt, and Richard Groove Holmes, touring up and down the East Coast. Later, he played for some time around the Baltimore-Metro area with Mickey Fields, the Dave Ross Trio, Carlos
Johnson, Arnold Sterling, Vernon Walsh's Big Blues Band and many, many more.

In addition to the Soul Serenaders, Boozie has recorded with various other musicians and groups, including Ray Gaskins, Jackie Harris, the late Vernon Walsh and a solo endeavor with studio producer and composer, Neal Conway. Having formed the M C Booze Band along with Ms. Mary Fair in 1995, the band recorded 'Live At The Baltimore Waterfront Jazz And Arts Festival' in 2002. In 2004, he flew to Detroit to record with the legendary Sir Thomas Hurley. Working with Neal Conway in Mr. Conway's Studio, together they've revised the original single from 1989, Boozin'. They added several other new original cuts. Boozin' became the title track of the new CD Boozin' which was released in July, 2010.
